World renowned Swiss architect Peter Zumthor has
designed these two neighboring wooden houses built on a hillside in the
picturesque mountain village
of Vals Leis community of
Canton Graubunden.
The village is located at 1,500 meters above sea level in a valley
between mountain ranges.
Both houses are called Oberhus and
Unterhus, following the logic of their situation.
In addition to its wooden facades,the
houses impress with its strong vertical presence in the background of the
beautiful mountain scenery.
Namely beauty of the surrounding
panorama causes the design of large windows that provide direct contact with
breathtaking views.
